Just recently I went on a family weekend trip to the Thames coast. We stayed at Dickson Holiday Park, which is on the Coromandel Peninsula only a few minutes north of Thames – remarkably close to home given you feel like you’ve hopped in the time machines and travelled back, oh, decades.

While the rest of the family was out hunting for gold, I had to make my own fun. Throwing rocks into the river, which flowed only metres from the camp site, about did it for me.

As usual, I took my trusty camera along and took hundreds of bad photos. Thankfully, I also managed a handful of half decent pics, too.

The 'camp' site. Nice day, too.

I may have had too much to drink. Or it could have been the fisheye effect on my camera...

Stream. Seriously.

Stream. Seriously.

This river/stream ran right past our camp site.

And again, through the fisheye.
