Soon enough I discovered The Wall and all that entailed. Then I found out what a big song actually was. Comfortably Numb is HUGE.
I still remember listening to this (on cassette…) late one summer night in a caravan during a boys trip to the beach. A boozy boys trip to the beach. The lights were out and I had a pillow over my face (just to be sure) and I just lay there and listened. It was probably the first time a piece of music had really grabbed me. It’s funny what you remember.
