Damn, 2004 was a tough year to find a decent song. Many of the best songs that charted in ’04 were actually released in ’03. So I’m having the same dilemma now as I did back in the 1990s.
That’s easily solved – I’m going to cheat a little. In The Shadows was first released in 2003, but hit the main charts (UK, USA, Oz, NZ) in 2004. I like the song and, really, I have to have something from a Finnish band on my soundtrack, so this will do.
That’s probably not the best of recommendations so…I’ll say it doesn’t seem like eight years since this was in the charts. I still remember listening to it on the car radio driving to and from work at my Finnish-owned company. It fits nicely.
